I think I have come a long way from that first post last year. The unlabled button is for connectin to the MFC app and wont do any thing unless you are running a debugger. The 'View' button switches between first and third person perspective. ![]() Press the connect button. You will join the lobby.Ĭhoose 'Cameras' in the available room list and press 'join room'.Īllow to use your camera.Flash security camera popup.Īlright.Once in the rooom click on the Text-instruction area, or your webcam image to enable 3d navagation with arrow keys. If you want to put your own web cam into the conference 'space' try this link. If all is going right, you should see one or more web cam cubes in the stream. and click on the 'tests' stream if its in the 'Available Streams' bin. To view the output stream containing the composted client webcams, visit my testing grounds I'll likely be running this for a few hours. Next load Umm.err "Flash Cam" into another application and capture or stream the composition where needed. If all of this is sucessful, Im ready to load another decendant of Vcam. If successful, It waits for the 'fill buffer' call forwarding, and then draws the UI component to bitmapdata, and passes to the sourcefilter. The users instances are placed in a flash UI component, and a socket attemps to connect to an MFCĪPP. The users can move around the 'space' with arrow keys. Users are represented in 3D by a cube projection covered by thier web cam stream. Kind of a novelty, but you have a minute, flash in the browser, and even a web cam if you want in the picture, Im testing the stability of the source filter that streams the conference output. Normaly a post in the forum would start with something like," I want to make a web conference application and I want to create one movie from the conferences, and also allow people to watch live." Just search for one of my first posts and the code samples I asked for!Īt any rate thats what Im testing.performance of the objects making that happen. Its not a design project, so its not pretty, just developing some objects. Unfortunatley for some it does require flash to see. Anyone is welcome to join BREAKTIME CLASSIC but no one is twisting anyone's arm to force them to do so. There is no 'raid' mentality going on here. ![]() In starting up BREAKTIME CLASSIC we are not disputing Taunton's right to do with their business what they wish we are simply trying to provide a user-friendly platform so that the community itself can continue to exist in an environment which it likes. It may be, in my opinion (and that of, apparently many many others) a very poor and shortsighted management decision, but it is Taunton's decision to take nonetheless.īut we are talking about a very vital internet 'community'.and the community is the members, not the management of the corporation that runs the servers and chooses the software. I have also written for FHB and count a number of good friends among staff and former staff there.īut things change, and it is the undisputed right of Taunton to manage its affairs as it sees fit, including dumping a forum format that all its users like. I have been a longtime supporter of Taunton and the forums, as anyone who's read my posts at BT over the years can verify. I appreciate your frank comments, and as the administrator of the new 'Classic' forum, I confirm with you that it has no connection to Taunton of any sort.
